Dear colleagues,

It was good to see so many of you at Chris Newfield's UL Lafayette and LSU
presentations in October, 2018 and at the December ALFS-AAUP meeting.

I attach in .docx and .pdf the current newsletter for the Louisiana
Conference of the AAUP, following our meeting of December 1, 2018 and in
preparation for our upcoming February 2 meeting at LSU-Alexandria. You will
see that we have been active. Of interest to ALFS members and UL System
faculty is that faculty from five UL System campuses, from ALFS and AAUP,
will present on "Higher Education as Public Good" at the upcoming UL System
Conference, to be held February 14-15 at UL Lafayette. *(Susanna, could you
please post the newsletter to the website?*)

I look forward to seeing as many as possible at the February 2 meeting in
Alexandria, to work on our proposed resolution urging restoration of state
funding for higher education, for the public good.  Details and news of
other current activities are in the newsletter.
