UL Lafayette Chapter AAUP
Newsletter January 2019

The chapter met January 25, 2019. Elections were held for officers. The new
President is Sun-A Lee (Child and Family Studies, slee at louisiana.edu).
Leslie Bary (Spanish and Latin American Studies, lbary at louisiana.edu) is
Secretary-Treasurer and Chair of Committee A. Keith Dorwick (English) is
Media Manager.

The Vice-Presidency remains vacant. The Committee on Academic Freedom and
Tenure (Committee A) is active and asking for additional members. It
handled two cases in 2018 and has a policy project upcoming. A chapter
meeting will be called later this year to discuss these matters and make
future plans.

The next meeting of the State Conference is Saturday, February 2, at
LSU-Alexandria. All are more than welcome, and lunch will be served. The
agenda is posted on the state conference website (January 2019 Newsletter)
at http://aaupla.org/ and further information is available from me or other
state conference officers (list on the website under "contact").
